Kids Need Special Dental Care
Children, unlike adults who have visited the dentist dozens of times, have limited experience and may be fearful. Our professionals respect children by explaining what they are doing in simple terms. We have reasonable expectations for their behavior and, rather than dismissing their concerns, reassure them.
Pediatric Dental Patients Treatments:
- Kids fluoride treatments and bi-annual cleaning
- Counseling children on diet and habits such as thumb-sucking and pacifier use
- Kids cavity and dental disease diagnosis and treatment
- Teaching kids proper brushing and flossing techniques
- After-injury tooth repair or replacement of children teeth or adult teeth
- Explaining the significance of baby tooth care and what to expect when permanent teeth erupt.
- Treating Special Needs Children and Adults
Main Street Dental Arts’ staff has extensive experience treating children and adults with special physical or cognitive needs. Autism, Down syndrome, wheelchair use, blindness, and deafness are just a few of the difficulties that patients face. We know how to break down communication barriers so that patients understand that we are there to help them, not harm them. Prior to your or your child’s first appointment, Main Street Dental Arts recommends that you schedule a consultation to help us understand any unique challenges in providing excellent dental care.
Our staff values each patient and believes in putting the patient first.
That is, the doctor looks at the person first and then at the disability.
We work with each patient’s strengths and abilities while making accommodations for their special needs. Please contact us at any time if you have any questions or concerns about special needs dental treatment for adults and children.
